Advisors

Gary Lenzini

I have been a member of the Cosmopolitan Breakfast Club for 10 years. I recognized that the APO has a lot of community activities both on and off campus and felt that Paul was on a great idea with Cosmos and APO ” teaming up”

Although I have worked with APO for quit a few years, just last year became an advisor.

I am the manager of Hanger Clinic and like to golf and play drums in my spare time.

APO — keep up the great work!

Paul Beuselinck

I started as a Community Adviser in 2009 when I was president of Cosmopolitan

Breakfast Club.  The Cosmopolitans were looking for ways to interact and
communicate with the large population of Columbia’s college students.

I retired from the Mizzou campus in 2008, but since I am an Adjunct
Professor of Plant Sciences (plant genetics) I was appointed as Faculty
Adviser in 2010.

After I left campus I discovered that I missed the energy and varied
perspectives of the college community, so I sought a way to get re-involved
with students.  I am a strong supporter of personal service to our
communities and I am honored that Beta Eta allows me to be a part of their
organization.

I live in the small town of Ashland, half-way between Jeff City and CoMo in
a comfortable 120 yr old house.  Charlotte married me about 40 yrs ago and
mostly keeps me from doing really stupid stuff.  We have 2 female chocolate
labs, a neutered cat with attitude, a cackle of hens, and two goldfish of
unknown sexual orientation.  We have a small farm where we hunt (deer and
turkeys), play with chainsaws and tractors, tap maple trees to make syrup,
and make other kinds of general mayhem.

I have served on Ashland’s Planning and Zoning Commission since 2004.  Since
2012 I have been able to serve as a guardian for WWII, Korean and Vietnam
veterans on Central Missouri Honor Flights.

Mark Kirk

Mark is our newest advisor, taking his position in January 2014.   Mark became an advisor because “I think APO has wonderful goals and can do a lot of good for the local community.  In so doing, APO will be a great ambassador for MU.”   Mark is a neuroscientist, currently researching plasticity in the crayfish nervous system.

In his free time, Mark plays golf, squash and the piano.

Taylor Thompson

I am living proof that this organization can become like a second family for you. I joined APO my second semester freshman year at Mizzou. Eight semesters, seven leadership positions, and hundreds of volunteer hours later - APO still stands as the organization that made the biggest impact on my college career.

I graduated in December of 2015 with a degree in hospitality management, and now I am a full on adulting Columbian resident who works at a local hotel.

In my spare time when I am not at work, I like cooking, reading, going on hikes, and binge watching Netflix shows. I do continue to volunteer in my spare time at the Humane Society, my local church, and a variety of events that come through town.

After graduating I still couldn't get enough of this organization. I wanted to come to chapter meetings, rush events, and various socials. So after a heavy dose of pleading, the executive board let me come back as an adviser for the fraternity. I couldn't be more thrilled to be back, and watch current students fall in love with this organization as much as I have.
